Based in New York City, Kandice Chavous is a Creative Director and Video Director whose work lives at the intersection of fashion, film, and photography. Beginning her career as a creative producer she then moved into directing social first video. Along the way she picked up a still image camera and never put it down.
Kandice is drawn to worldbuilding: crafting visual environments, moods, and characters that blur the boundaries between digital and analog image-making. Her work often explores identity, presence, and the quiet power of the Black experience, using abstraction, texture, and movement to create visuals that linger.
She holds an M.A. in Fashion Film and Photography from Paris College of Art and a B.S. in Fashion Design from Thomas Jefferson University.
Her films and visual pieces have been shown internationally at the Bastille Design Center in Paris and Saatchi Education Gallery in London. Her film “Icarus’s Fall” was nominated for Best Direction, while “On Any Given Day” received a nomination for Best Fashion Film at the Berlin Fashion Film Festival.
